Sporting Schools Program

The Sporting Schools program is a national initiative that provides primary school-aged children with access to free sport and other structured physical activity programs in the after-school time slot of 3.00pm to 4.00pm.

The program aims to engage traditionally inactive children in sport and other structured physical activities, and through a positive and fun experience, develop a love of sport that inspires them to join a local sporting club.

Mr Shane Dupuy is the Active After-school Communities coordinator here at PBC and along with Mr Andrew Scudamore, runs two sessions a week on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Both Mr Dupuy and Mr Scudamore are experienced and accredited in a range of sports as well as being classroom teachers at the College. Over the years they have developed strong relationships with coaches from local sporting organisations who come to the College to work with the students. Some examples of activities include:

    •    Surf Awareness
    •    Soccer
    •    Softball
    •    Multiskills
    •    Karate
    •    Cricket
    •    Athletics
    •    Frisbee

All students are welcome to attend this fantastic program where the focus is on having fun through a combination of play based and structured activities.
